Right, but audit doesn't care about that. They just see the number of reported vulnerabilities and flip out. Make that better! Fix that! Alpine to the rescue. Do you want to spend time in meetings explaining why 100+ CVEs are nonsense

This is one reason I switched to Alpine from Debian as a base. It's has literally 0 security issues. The auditors love it and I love the small size and speed. Win win.

I love writing Lambdas in Go. I would also love to be able to do that in Rust. I wonder if AWS will ever support that?

To "walk around" means to roam or wander. Most people understand this use of the phrase. But in this case, the man seems to have actually walked the perimeter of the island.

I like Go for all these reasons too, and the fact that vim and a Makefile are all we need to be very productive.

If you took CS in college, you learned algorithms and proofs then. If you did not take CS, you are probably lost when asked these questions. It takes time and lots of practice (which CS grads did in college) to learn these things. Once you

Thanks. I could take them or leave them. I've used generics a lot in C++, but as long as I can continue writing Go1 programs as I have been for the last 10 years, I'll be happy.

But is that really bad for Go? I'm not sure it is. Go1 will always be useful just as it is.

People talk. I'm in a specific industry and on a lot of industry specific mailing lists. When companies charge some of us extra, everyone quickly learns about it and that ends up making the vendor look bad and makes everyone in the ind

You are never "just a whatever" and you should not think of yourself like that. You are a human and you have just as much value as any other. Your life experience and views create the diversity that makes us all strong.

The author is joking. The article is tongue in cheek. You can get a MS in CS from Georgia Tech for roughly $7,000 US dollars total cost... if you can get accepted and complete the work. GT's CS program is consistently ranked in the top

I agree. I think he is joking, but, I could not tell for certain. The idea that a university degree is one of the best ways to lose money is not at all true.
