Have you tried Pandora? In other ways they are completely outclassed by Spotify, but their mood-respecting recommendations are the best I've seen by far.

It's not the overthinking part of this essay that reflects poorly on the field of philosophy. It's the complete lack of interest in evidence. > For one thing, the status of the (so-called) hindsight bias is contested Why? Wer

It's a recursive query, but it's basically the simplest recursive query. It's not that bad. WITH recursive_traversal(depth, id) AS ( -- base case: the root has no previous SELECT 0, id FROM todo WHERE

Sure. Add columns "previous" and "next"; both can also be foreign keys into this table. Querying is a bit less straightforward, though; you need a recursive query to traverse the pointers. (Or traverse in application l

For a high-level answer to that question, see https://dominionstrategy.com/2013/01/21/the-five-fundamental... (by the same author as the original article). You won with an "Engine" deck type, which

Are they randomly generated at the higher levels? Level 60 only requires 2 moves out of the 3 it gives you. Edit: This game is very relaxing. It goes up to 4 moves at level 90. Edit 2: I don't think they are autogenerated anymore; le

"Half baked" misrepresents the difficulty this task. Yes, Zoom does it better, but it's _still_ an excellent and interesting engineering accomplishment. I've always wondered what proportion of modern real-time video eff

That burden of proof sounds backward; the person making the optimization should be benchmarking. Rather than rejecting outright, did you consider blocking the pull request and asking for benchmarks demonstrating that the optimization was wo

After all the fuss about lack of explainability in Deep Learning, this makes me believe the endgame will just be: politely ask the model to explain itself.

100% agree. What's the use case for SVMs? Linear models are simpler. GBMs are more powerful, more flexible, and faster. Every ML course I took had 3 weeks of problem sets on VC dimension and convex quadratic optimization in Lagrangia

I enjoyed that you have a Base Set strategy guide open at the same time as you're playing. Looks like a rough game. Why did you buy the last Cellar to end the game when you were behind?

Playing a game immediately after learning the rules is my favorite challenge - especially when the other players are all new too. At this stage, tactics are mostly about keeping all the rules in your head and thinking hard before each move.
