There’s literally no news here. The link is broken. Did you click the link and even attempt to read the story? Parent is onto something here. Musk bad = automatic reflexive upvotes on this site and that is not a good thing.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but can't XSLT be processed server side instead of browser side? It seems like a very easy fix for the handful of websites that still use it.

The problem is that I would still need to "port out" my email address manually to a new domain name. It's not an exaggeration to say that there are probably over a hundred places I would need to make that change.

I wish there was something like cell phone number porting for email addresses. I don’t know how it would work on the technical side or how you could secure something like that, but the idea of switching email providers is too daunting, so

AI tools absolutely can deliver value for certain users and use cases. The problem is that they’re not magic, they’re a tool and they have certain capabilities and limitations. A screwdriver isn’t a bad tool just because it sucks at openi

After using FreeBSD and OpenBSD, it is frankly shocking how bad Linux documentation is in comparison. On the BSDs every command, every program, every system call, and every configuration file are thoroughly documented in man pages and othe

There's a couple really big things I like about linear. As you said you can follow the thread of conversation in chronological order. Another big thing for me is that it doesn't have comment karma. Upvotes and downvotes result

It’s not oppression to detain and deport people who are in a country illegally. These are people who have no right to be in this country in the first place. I really do feel for the kid in your example, but at the same time, it is not Amer

I still think old school linear forums are the best format for online discussion. They’re not perfect by any means, but I think they still beat all the alternatives I’ve tried.

It’s funny you bring up Colbert on this topic. His own narrative of why his show was cancelled is a lie that felt true to his fans. It felt good to martyr him and say that he was cancelled for saying truth to power against President Trump.

This is why fake news is such an effective propaganda tool. There are to this day many people who honestly believe untruths because the media repeated lies and half truths loudly, followed by quiet retractions when they got caught.

Okay, maybe not literally zero percent unemployment, but my point still stands that we do not have a shortage of labor in this country and we do not need to import any at this time. We should incentivize workers through better compensation

Until we hit zero percent unemployment, we have a surplus of labor in this country and have no need to import any more. It is up to employers to pay competitive wages and train people to fill the vacancies.

They also have a major trust problem. They have repeatedly published half truths, clickbait, propaganda, and even outright lies under the guise of news. Good riddance.
