This is really one of the use cases of TinyML. On-device ML to detect motion, etc. As microcontrollers are getting more powerful, more and more is possible. Just look at https://www.tensorflow.org/lite/microcontrollers

Yes, for Hashimoto's thyroiditis there seem to be some approaches: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38621508/ Let's see how this plays out.

It is mentioned that there is the Tetris Effect, which means you do an activity so much that they enter your dreams, thoughts ... etc. This happens to me as a developer, too. Especially for mind-bending stuff, like miniKanren, or first time

Yeah, but it's in your text/comment. The logical thing is that it makes 0 sense. Columbus to not take the real circumference makes 0 sense. Let's go to Mars, start a civilization there. It'll be a lot of change for us hu

In my PhD thesis I am doing this, but at an organizational level, how algorithms are managed and organized, i.e., via task lists, inside of the system, e.g., the debugger, or virtual meetings. There was a clear discovery of the movement awa

Thanks for the comment, this sounds actually kind of great. This year I'll enter my 40s so maybe in the next five years I'll start to switch to smaller companies. I really miss the builder schedule.

I was nomadding in Istanbul, working 4h per day, whenever I wanted to. This was the perfect setup. Unfortunately, as one gets older the classical developer role is not really possible anymore. Now I work 8 to 9 hours, 2 days in the office p

As with XML, OOP has its uses. I still use XML to mark up files. It's a great technology, which looks just like madness in JSON. And whenever you do simulations there is nothing better than OOP. Ideas spread like viruses, this insight

A lot of the sciences (as all fields of study at the university) is more art than science (in the English sense). Locking in philosophy to be more like the sciences, narrows down the enquiry. Take the social sciences, where philosophy is cr

I work in MedTech. We do this. A design has to be reviewed by QA, and is then tested, and the test is reviewed again. So just to counter the narrative, there are companies that do that, and it is working. In other jobs I also saw the cargo
