> Even non-pilots who play video games have enough common sense not to do that But in video games you likely have good visibility and an external view. AF447 did neither. The human ear is actually really terrible from telling a pitch up

If by warning you mean the audible stall warning - that's because below 50 knots, the airspeed is considered unreliable / erroneous, because to get to that speed without flaps you'd have to be stalling the aircraft for over a

EUPL compatibility is not exactly "opening a bunch of loopholes". It's yielding to a very specific list of licenses, to very specific conditions that exclusively make the resulting license more strict (e.g. combining with AGP

I love Pulumi, but I can't in good conscience hand it to a group of developers when I know at least one of them will want to be extremely clever and abuse the fact that it runs real code to do cursed things that will make the code not

The AGPL revels in legal uncertainty and UX destroying demands (see FSFs "an agpl reverse proxy must first serve a notice it's AGPL before proxying onward"). I find the EUPL is a much better replacement for what a lot of peop

It's important to note the stall indication itself wasn't disregarded, but the indicated airspeed (that is a prerequisite). This plane was in the exceptional situation of falling out of the sky faster than it was moving forward.

Yes, but whoever hits the button last gets control, so you can take priority back. (Unless you manage to hit the priority button for 40 seconds - but I assume that's for locking out a broken stick that's doing inputs at rest)

Reading the CVR again, he did in fact ask for the controls ("So give me the controls") several times, but still seemed to be under the impression that they were in overspeed, or at least had to climb. I think my sibling comment is

I'd be hesitant to compare these. The aircraft still operated as designed. It detected that the input data was bad and turned the automation off. The pilot flying just didn't seem to grasp what that means. Most Tesla Autopilot fai

Also, the PNFs hesitancy to shout "my controls" and/or hitting the priority button, especially as he moves to pitch the plane down when it was probably still recoverable. That the off-duty captain standing behind them is the

The main takeaway is that somehow the pilot who kept holding the stick back was under the assumption that the correct response to a stall in cruise was to apply full TOGA thrust, not to recover from aerodynamic stall. This is likely because
