Apple added the ability to compile and deploy apps without a developer license in iOS 9 and Xcode 7. In fact, Apple even advertises this ability as the most prominent new feature of Xcode 7.[1] If your response were true, Apple would never

The future doesn't apply today. Today, webviews don't implement content blocking. GGP appeared to assume webviews did implement that.

It's a different domain. Content blocking only applies to Safari. iAd ads only appear in third party apps if the developer chooses to use them. They could also use a different ads provider. That's not affected by content blocking

It's confusing to people who are told to disable defragmentation on SSDs. It's the same button for both HDDs and SSDs, and both TRIM and defragmentation are referred to using the same word, 'optimization'[0]. An unaware

I don't know about earlier Windows, but Windows 8 does not attempt to defragment drives that identify themselves as being solid-state. It does invoke TRIM on drives that advertise that feature, and confusingly, this is done through the

The practice of hypermiling is about burning less fuel to reach your destination. Likewise, avoiding unnecessary braking saves on replacement costs. It's certainly not needed for any car, but it saves money.

Even with a 60 Hz screen this will be advantageous. If the application is fast enough to render at 120 fps, rendering at 60 fps means that the UI thread will be idle at least half of the time, so the processor will draw less battery power.

Cmd.exe isn't a terminal emulator, it's a shell. Conhost.exe (and before Windows 7, csrss.exe) is the process behind the terminal window.

According to [1], the previously accepted syntax was never documented as being valid. That means that code affected by this change was relying on undocumented behavior. [1]: https://github.com/jashkenas/coffeescript

That's not correct. The Basic Multilingual Plane (like Unicode itself) is not an encoding, it is a subset of the Unicode codespace. UTF-8 restricted to sequences of 3 bytes can only represent characters between U+0000 and U+FFFF inclus

It's not about PHP being "uncool", it's about the many things in PHP being objectively wrong.[1] Of course it's perfectly possible to write good code in PHP, but compared to other languages, writing proper PHP requi

What kind of graphics capabilities do you require? My current MacBook Pro can switch between an AMD Radeon 6770M and Intel HD Graphics 3000. I've found that the Intel is fast enough, and the Radeon is hot and uses a lot of energy. I us
