With a 100 Mbit/sec connection, that would become "Less than 10 hours". That's still quite fast.

That's definitely false. PRAM only contains firmware settings and boot parameters. It isn't big enough to contain drivers. If the display driver is at fault, grandparent wouldn't even see a mouse cursor. I don't know any

I run several virtual machines on my 8 GB MBP and I have never seen swap issues. Are you sure your problems are actually caused by swap? "purge" doesn't touch swap, it discards disk cache. Its use (according to the man page)

The half-blank pages you're seeing is a feature that's recently been enabled. This is a case of latency improvement that visually appears to be worse. When rendering can't keep up with your rate of scrolling, Chrome will disp

Some people like moving the scroll bar (which seems to be your preference). Other people like moving the document (which is my preference). There's no right or wrong choice here. The current default logically makes sense -- your cursor

I can easily see stereographic images where you have to focus on a plane in front of the picture, but with this implementation you should focus behind the picture. That's hard for me to do, and this implementation doesn't allow th

Actually, graphics drivers provide the OpenGL interface, just like they provide the rendering backend to DirectX. People are going to install graphics drivers anyway if they're going to do GPU stuff.

Surely a physically present user (mentioned by the requirement of point 18) can disconnect the boot device in order to prevent Windows from booting. The firmware then has ample time to set up USB and allow the user to enter firmware setup.

Secure Boot isn't about lock-in, at least not on PCs. To qualify for the Windows Logo program, it must be possible to disable Secure Boot.
