I think this is quite different- I don’t think mojo runs on the GPU unless I am mistaken.

This was my thought as well. Many people don’t remember how huge Napster was at the time. Dr Dre and Metallica speaking out changed the zeitgeist in a massive way.

It definitely worked in the case of Napster! It was a technological setback that bought time for the incumbent industry to catch up. Lots of parallels here actually.

100% market share. A competitor will likely need to be 10x better than ChatGPT in order to get significant market share, not just marginally better in certain scenarios.

The problem is that if you call it out, it will frequently change its answer, even if it was correct. LLMs currently lack chutzpa.

I think at that point you could also stimulate visual/audio cortex as well - no headset needed!

You've made an incorrect assumption - I'm a developer. I work remotely. If my company had an office nearby I would gladly go.

Work from home is not great for everyone. Since going fully remote, I have noticed a drastic increase in mental health and substance abuse issues among coworkers. An office job provided structure and meaningful daily contact that is not rep

I doubt the code would be identifiable. It wouldn’t be the actual code written, but it would be very similar. But I assume many elements of code style would be lost, and any semblance of code style would be more or less hallucinated.

The interfaces you are talking about require years of training, study and passing multiple tests to demonstrate proficiency. In software UX we are talking about discoverability and approachability for the untrained operator.

Yes, 100%! This is my second most frustrating UX gripe with the Tesla trunk UX - the first being the super long animation you have to wait through in order to open the trunk after putting the car in park. Overall tesla UX is miles ahead of

You can avoid this entirely with JavaScript's tagged template literals. Here is an example library: https://github.com/blakeembrey/sql-template-tag

99% of websites are not insanely popular development environments. vscode.dev, for example, takes up the full browser width.

Eye tracking is hardly mentioned in this press release but I think is a Huge Deal. Will allow foveated rendering (huge optimization) as well as increased emotional connection in face to face experiences. "The eyes are the window to the

I agree. There has been tremendous whiplash in the markets. We went from free money and “new paradigms” to QT belt tightening and broken dreams. If people think they could lead better than Zuck, they should start a company and beat him.

Just a heads up for anyone reading this, as a mindfulness coach I wouldn’t recommend this technique. The rubber band and “stop” voice are pretty harsh and rather we want to practice inner kindness and letting go.

I am so sorry to hear this, my heart goes out to Bob’s family. I had the pleasure of meeting Bob a few times while doing Android dev, he always went to Strange Loop. He was kind, smart, and funny. He was one of those CTOs that still loved t

I doubt it will be the standard. I think it will always be faster to process data using a script generated by the LLM. One thing I could see is a "self updating" script, that adjusts its logic on the fly when new data are found.

A classic paper with a dream that has yet to be realized. We continue to bolt state on top of state. Redux bolted on top of GraphQL on top of Redis on top of Postgres. We can do better.

I haven’t read the docs lately but when I was hacking on Atom years ago, the plugin model was TOO freeform, and with plugins all running on the main thread, it was easy for a plugin to kill performance and slow down the editor. The vscode m
