$4,300 apartment lease. $1,000 car lease ($700 lease + $300 car insurance). Huge sum spent on high end restaurants. Taxes Also ended up hiring a few contract workers to take care of misc work such as customer support. $20k was at the peak.

Agreed with everything you mention. I'll update the front page of the website and duplicate the Sliding Boxes effects on the main screenshot. I'll rewrite some of the language to target artists instead of developers. Thanks for this feedbac

I was under the impression that GetHacker receives $50, it's the price a client has to pay in order to connect with a developer. Then you the developer would be able to negotiate costs with the client in private.

I've built systems with both Stripe and Braintree. Stripe is so much easier to work with. Braintree's not too bad, but the implementation of Stripe is more straight forward.

PayPal is a lot better than the older solutions (think Authorize.net). However, Stripe makes PayPal look just as bad and complicated as Authorize.net. With Stripe, you can seriously setup a site to start taking subscriptions under an hour.

Not exactly. Iframes aren't involved (yuck how ugly!). Javascript is used to catch the form's submit, all the data on the form (credit card info) is sent straight to Stripe's server over https (via AJAX) and then their server sends back a r
