At the risk of seeming like I'm helping the pharmaceutical industry off the hook; there's a flip-side to the pharmaceutical companies pushing their products the way they do: people want the pills. We--especially in the West--are

Something that I would include with the apology part (the text may have covered this and I missed it) is that apologies don't have but's. "I'm sorry I funded Wikimedia Antarctica but..." Everything you say after the

Marco is right about PHP's documentation. I've felt for a long time that the quality documentation PHP provided played a major role in the language's success.

This is becoming a problem Internet-wide. Too many people are more interested in becoming Internet Famous than becoming actually good programmers/engineers/etc...

I have relatives who were convinced that the Rapture was coming in 2012. The looks on their faces when I asked them in 2011, "Why do you keep going to work, then? Why are you still having kids? Why did you just buy a house?" ca

I love that the home page is clear, concise, and simple while still being stylish. The current trend of a massive hero image pushing most/all of the usable content below the fold is getting really, really old to me.

A lot of great comments here and I generally agree. One thing I think we all need to consider essential is ethics. As software continues to eat the world, programmers are being used for unethical endeavors and I think all too often we don&

The Vizio that I bought four years ago has kind-of gone that far. They updated the OS so that you can't access the main interface (which includes built in Netflix and Amazon Prime, among others) unless you agree to a ToS giving them a

I'm genuinely worried about Apple now. It seemed to me that, for the most part, they had avoided the "change for change's sake" mentality that is rampant in the tech industry. Moving Bedtime to Health is clearly that.

Roy Dotrice did, for the most part, a superb job of narrating the Song of Ice and Fire series (Game of Thrones). So much so that when he wasn't available to narrate A Feast for Crows, the publisher replaced him with John Lee who was s

That's a pretty big straw man argument. If Apple said all apps have to pay a 95% cut and all customers have to pay $20/mo to use Internet on their phones then they'd nearly instantly lose massive market share and the backlas
