Remember: "the EU is founded on core values including respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and respect for human rights." No doubt we'll keep on giving lessons about these to non-EU countr

I live in Spain, while I find the whole "life-threatening" narrative a tad overblown: I agree these obnoxious blocks are unacceptable. Incredible how much power LaLiga is capable of wielding.

Surprised to see such a poor and superficial article reach the front page, the collapsing birth rates are a multifactorial problem, there's nothing of substance in that article.

Why can't I, the user, give a special permission to a specific app to override the silent mode just like I can with my emergency contacts?

I use both and I'm amazed at how poor the VSCode proposal is compared to Cursor.

I honestly thought we should make it a public holiday and shut down the electricity once a year, not so realistic unfortunately.

I am in Barcelona too. The combination of no power and patchy internet was the perfect recipe for rumors to spread, which was fun to observe. I went for a walk since I couldn't work and saw tons of people socializing, drinking beers (m

I tried not so long ago, it didn't stick, I still find results are too sanitised and got better results with DDG or Yandex. Now that Google is pushed this own flavor of AI slop I will do a new round of testing of the alternatives.

I just walk through Eixample, traffic is a bit chaotic and police has trouble managing it. Stay safe!

Is there a way to sync a library of FLACs for example across devices? Like a music player that syncs with a private S3 bucket?

It would be easier if you posted the name of your app :)

Congrats on the launch! Looks slick and reactive. Now I wish there was an app to analyse my meals from pictures and estimate the calories/macros, I guess it exists somewhere but I doubt the accuracy, honestly the only thing I really wa

I'm currently in the process of picking the go-to React stack for the company I work for, and I cannot imagine why someone would pick Next.js over the alternatives. It seems like Next.js is just a Vercel product and something you'

Wouldn't that be fair use? In any cases, if someone do claim copyright on that article then the case will be closed.

Genuine question: could Chromium survive and thrive without Google's support? As far as I'm aware, most Chromium contributions come from Google, so while it's technically open-source, Google is still very much in control of i

Such systems are designed and fine-tuned over decades of sometimes hard-learned lessons. This is not meant as a political comment, but people will likely die as a result of this.

The state of React is so frustrating: plain React doesn't make much sense, but at the same time Next.js is a complete pain in the neck to use. Remix is promising, but young... At that point backend development is much more straightforw

It's not related to engineering issues but rather the ideological shift and the fact that it became a blatant propaganda machine for its new overlord.

I would say "soft replacement" is a thing. People may not be getting fired directly, but companies are hiring fewer developers, and freelancers are most likely getting fewer opportunities than before.

You're correct, your RO system should reduce the amount of microplastics significantly though, to a point that makes your water much safer than most common options.

I live in a small place that I rent so I don't have so much space for the system, but if you have the space for it I would say it's worth it! I would also love to have RO for my shower but I haven't found a solution for that.
