Mushroom can eat and decompose mostly everything. That's their role in the carbon based life ecosystems. I strongly suggest reading Paul Stamets' books. Mushrooms are fascinating.

I just replaced all my blinds with Somfy motors as well (project of last weekend). My plan is to do something similar except I plan to use a small board with a small microcontroller (probably a STM8) to send the radio frames to the motor co

I use an old IBM laptop with only a pointing stick (the red nipple in the middle of the keyboard). I don't mind having to move my mouse to the scrollbar and drag it to scroll documents or webpages (when I can't use the keyboard fo

I'm the same. When I was in high school, I couldn't afford a Das Keyboard. So I spray painted my keyboard so that I could get the same effect. I'm still using that keyword 16 years later and all my subsequent keyboards were a

I've heard multiple similar stories (in Europe) with non subsidized tenants. Being disrespectful is not probably not correlated with being poor or not.

I'm very saddened by the news. To me couchsurfing was not only about hosting people to my place (which I hope I can continue doing after the pandemic) but also about their events. The weeks I couldn't or didn't feel like host

I'm doing something similar on my Pixel 2. In the end I have very few apps that send personal data to ad companies (I've blocked as many ad and tracker networks as I could), and I've prevented most apps from showing me notifi

I've also used Myers-Briggs quite a lot in my 20s as well. It helped me a lot to understand why and how some people function differently than others. Instead of thinking "this guy is an asshole", I began to think "I unde

I've been switching back and forth between two providers for the last 5 years, and I've always wondered now that I'm back to my first provider if calls/texts to me go directly to A, or go A->B->A->B->A.

It's like what's happening all over the French news all the time: you get told people are going on strike and on demonstrations, but you're never told why they're doing it anymore.

My company has no investors. The first years were a bit hard revenue wise. The first engineers were paid a lot more than myself and the other cofounders until we got proper traction. Never had any issue with that.

Also very happily self hosting bitwarden. Bitwarden is using Microsoft technologies. If running a MSSQL server is too much for you, you can use alternative servers which are fully compatible with the official clients: - https://g

I've published a few apps that run the same platform on different countries with different branding (name, logo, theme, etc.) I had to restrict each of them to their own country (i.e. preventing German users from reaching the French ap

I threw away the finger technique, and now I use an instant thermal probe. Works 100% of the time. +1 for the beurre, but don't forget to buy more for the sauce! It's all about the sauce.

When I tried Ubuntu a few years ago, I was very irritated by the fact that many apps did not work with the keyboard at all. It was mouse or nothing (except for text fields).
