Shout out to my homies in RVA. There are so many complications to this issue. I imagine a long time ago things were less complex and more manageable. As you build layer upon layer of new tooling on top of the past I feel things were just

For some reason I really appreciate the information density of these sites even if they're quite busy. I feel like one large page load allows me to do a lot of things whereas it seems the trend in the west is to download a heavy SPA JS

I moved to a 60% keyboard the past year and I wish I'd taken the time to research this. This is a lifesaver.

As of 3:30 EST we're at about 30 minutes of downtime since this was posted on HN. We're still at 6 nines of reliability which is damn impressive.

I admittedly haven't had much experience on the other side but would it be possible to use the identity system that AirBnB uses to "vouch" for people?

Did a back-of-the-envelope calculation. Assuming you responded promptly it would take around 504 years to finish the game.

This is what I first heard of when I saw this article. Question: is your charge dynamic based on actual traffic or is it statically priced?

I learned on QBasic and have been out of the game for a long time but how do the kids start out these days? Do they use Python or JS? BASIC seems like the perfect language for complete beginners to start out on due to the lack of things l

As crazy as these interviews are they have to be working right? Some people must be passing these things otherwise there would be a lot of unfilled positions. So much for there being a staffing shortage in our field. These types of interv

I have a Google Home and a Pixel 2. I didn't have problems until we added two Google Home Minis. It's knocked out 5G on the Verizon Quantum Gateway router and 2.4G drops out every now and then.

This is an interesting new world. I'm using Telegram and Discord to be a part of niche interest groups (certain video games and sports). Same for WhatsApp. I don't think these alternative communication platforms will dethrone T

Integrated version control is one of the biggest things I wish they included in Excel rather than relying on an external system to do it.

One other point is let's say you do create some fancy new system to handle the task. It's likely going to erode and be surpassed by new computing technology at which point you're looking at an expensive legacy migration whic

My pain point is that I don't know if my command was accepted or not. Also I think that mapping of voice commands to what you can do on the Xbox got reduced and is more confusing. Even on the Xbox One X the latency is still bad.
