But that's not the point. That's an argument about drug laws in general.

Hardly a ridiculous law. It would be ridiculous if you could evade the law by making trivial changes to chemical composition, which is what was happening before the law was amended.

I'm glad notepad.exe has avoided the modernisation trends in other Windows utilities. I wonder if there was ever a push to have a UWP replacement implemented. If so, I'm thankful to whoever knocked it back.

I've generally found app stores aside from the Apple App Store and Google Play to be undesirable essentially for this reason. They don't seem to adequately scrutinise whether someone should be permitted to publish a particular ap

Is it too late for any significant improvements to email? It seems like, to our lament, we're headed in the direction of proprietary instant chat services and protocols. Also, you can't overlook that a significant number of people

Password length isn't necessarily cause for concern in this context. See: https://www.troyhunt.com/banks-arbitrary-password-restrictio... As for MFA, the only Australian bank that seems to do it right is Macquarie (who

Today is a one-off national public holiday in Australia to mourn the loss of the Queen. I'd be curious to know when this attack started and whether it coincided with the public holiday by chance or by choice.

Have you seen Richard Ayoade's other work? I can't agree with you there. His appearances on 8 out of 10 cats are hilarious. To be fair, I'm sure if Richard Ayoade were here, his response would be you are plainly incorrect in

If I were one of the internal tools programmers, I wouldn't be "extremely disappointed" by this leak... I'm seriously impressed by the quality of the internal tooling. All that effort only to be seen and used internally.

Correct, but it's probably not necessary to permanently lock someone out. All that is needed is a significant delay. You could just block access and say "come back in 28 days". In the meantime, warning SMS and email messages

I know it's not the case, but I really like the thought of the Apple.com website being powered by a version of macOS with a built-in Apache web server.

Quite simple, really. Make the account private and tweet every possible death date in a reasonable timeframe. Then, upon the Queen's death, delete the incorrect tweets and make the account public. I imagine in a few days this account,

The Australian High Court is generally not partisan or political. The Justices are not generally predictable in their rulings, unlike in the US. So, if you're right that it's an archaeic view, I wouldn't put that down to poli

Nitpick I know, but (1) is a false statement of fact. It's not defamatory to say something which, while harmful of another's reputation, is true.

What you're missing is that "One China" is now a mere diplomatic fiction. The only reason the US and Taiwan insist on it is to avoid unnecessary escalation with China. But, as a matter of fact, Taiwan is a completely independ

The US Constitution is not much to be jealous about. In Australia, if people are unhappy with laws, they can change the government, who in turn can change the laws. Meanwhile, in the US, the validity of laws is decided based upon the views
