For me, Rust is a return to performance without compromising on high-level abstractions (e.g. iterator methods). Rust is very expressive, but at the same time safe and has your back on performance and keeps you safe. Honestly, I feel safer

Hooray, hosted Zipkin. Would be really nice to have a opentracing backend that sends to AWS X-Ray.

It doesn't help a system-level adversary, but it does help prevent trivial takeovers by malicious actors attempting to get access to your email as a vector to compromise other services. To summarize, 2FA does not prevent email reading

While I don't disagree and I expected an article on Android/iOS, did you read the article? It specifically talks about server OSes and Docker.

We have some consumers which treat log entries as tasks, and often it's handy to debounce some of the work into larger chunks that can be executed in parallel. The chunks can be linear or they could be grouped by some property of the m

One of the biggest problems with treating Kafka as a job queue is that you suffer from head-of-line blocking. Kafka doesn't expose per-message visibility/acknowledgement semantics like RabbitMQ/Redis PUSH+POP/SQS does. E

Reading through the criticisms the consensus is "sure, this can work if you allocate 10-100x more money than estimated." I'm not sure if it's truly innovative if it costs more, places considerable stress (up to 0.5g!) on

You're actually somewhat right! ATMs are an (sometimes) an example of eventual consistency. If an ATM is offline, it'll often allow you to make a withdraw anyways and once it's back on the network report back. That could mean

They have 9 states including a stop instruction, b`1111 which would preclude a 3-bit encoding. In any case, I suspect it's much easier to handle 4-bit words.

Parent said "UX" not "UI" problem. UX broadly encompasses all aspects of the experience, not just the UI. Sucky licensing hiccups, buffering, etc. all lead to poor UX.

Not sure why you're being downvoted, I can attest to this. There's only a certain amount of care you can give at a steady state (though, this does _seem_ to be able to increase, like a muscle at least for me personally). That said
