In Las Vegas this weekend, coming back we did not have to remove our shoes or laptops, just toss metal items in our bags and walk through the metal detector. I was through security in less than a minute. I suppose a bunch of hungover people

Good advice. Even with G1GC it's hard to run heaps that large. However, not to be overly pedantic, Java GC has many different algorithms and many avoid STW collection for as long as possible and do concurrent collection until it's

We do this. We have 50+ ASGs for the same reason. Often it's min=3, max=3 for HA, but if a machine fails it's automatically replaced. Every service in our infrastructure runs the same way. Some have scaling policies, some don'

You can, it just requires you to import the cert and use some pretty gnarly UI. I didn't mean to imply you couldn't use it from the browser, just that it was much less likely than curl + we rely on the cert for figuring out your a

FWIW, if it clarifies things, we disable shared secret auth when enabling mutual auth. At that point, you can really only call it with curl or your application.

Cool! The *nix/Windows ecosystems coming closer can only be a good thing. I've hesitated in getting a Surface Book since it'd always need a good network connection to support remote development, but this has the potential to

I wouldn't say pointless. It wastes an attacker's time if nothing else, otherwise you're essentially allowing that attacker to continue interacting with your server, and perhaps SSH isn't their only target.

It's very expensive. You have to be careful to only register high signal / low noise terms or risk a massive bill. To get the data emojitracker has would be tens of thousands a month or more.

You can snapshot your RDS database and restore it as an Aurora DB. Only caveat is it has to be MySQL 5.6. http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/UserGuide/Aurora...
