Unless Tesla figures out how to manufacture cars with much lower carbon emissions (I mean, the manufacturing of the cars themselves), Tesla is not going to fare that much better than the legacies. I hope they do figure it out...

Absolutely none whatsoever. Financial concerns didn’t weight at all on my mind when deciding to move here, so I can’t tell you if it’s better or worse. I strongly doubt it’s better, especially for retirement, but I could be wrong. So I’m no

The way salaries are expressed in France is needlessly complex, and doesn't translate to anything in the USA. So when you see 60k€, what it really means is: 84k€ (before taxes, healthcare, retirement, etc.) and 40k€ (after all taxes).

I think this article is missing the elephant in the room by putting too much emphasis on efficiency: the biggest issue with EVs is in the manufacturing, and the reason why I often hear Tesla and other big EVs referred to as tools to ease on

Mathematically if the supply of goods and services go down, but the supply of money stays fixed, prices will go up. I would expect that reducing the supply of oil (and to a lesser extent natural gas) would cause that sort of things, by redu

Also keep in mind, a lot of the cost of Hinkley Point is not so much the cost to build the reactors, but the financing. Speaking from memory, we are talking about borrowing at something like 10% over 35 years. If France finances these new p

It took more than 300 years to build the cathedral [1] in my home town (albeit with a 60-year pause in the middle). So indeed it might take another 4 or 5 generations to master nuclear fusion, but I see no issue with that. We should not shy

It's more of a philosophical question really, but are AlphaGo and AlphaFold "producing" knowledge? AlphaGo plays go, AlphaFold predicts protein structure. They are useful tools, but I wouldn't call what they produce know

Nickpicking: the CCP foundational congress was held on 23 July 1921, making it 100 years old in a couple of month. The Red Army was founded on 15 July 1927, which is why it is generally assumed (seriously or not, I don't know) that Chi
