Easier in what way? Can you give us an example? How are "advanced keystrokes" in Gmail going to be easier or better for someone when all of the keyboard shortcuts are completely inconsistent with every other application (web or otherwise)?

I think your summation of this article is way off. First - It was written by a lone PHd over a year before the NIMH blog post (which was written by a lone MD). Second - I don't think this author was presenting his article as "the last wor

I have a Surface Pro and have had no such problems. The Wifi interface is not different between these two devices. Do you think it's the user interface causing the connection problems or something else?

Synology is doing good things in this area. They offer a "private cloud" backup and file-sharing solution, served from a (linux based) NAS, with client programs for Mac, Windows, Android and iOS. I have a home/small office model and I love

Chrome itself is a multiple document interface. So is every other tabbed interface. So is every other program that allows you to interface with multiple documents.

Maybe they did think it through, but their conclusion reveals some inexperience. It's impractical on many levels. Thus the need for kludgy solutions like blank identifiers. I'd rather see a strict mode or some other type of compiler flag.

Yeah, if by classier they meant closer to upper-class, then I would have to disagree too. Kirk was clearly not upper-class. Maybe they meant to say flashier or something else.

Why? Makes sense to me. Why else would Facebook want to "power my app" with Parse? Haven't they always only offered developer services for their own platform and not the wider web?

I would have accepted "it's Unix". I think that's got to be the biggest reason techies run Macs.

Visual Studio (2012) is one of the first things I installed and it works great. Some other desktop apps I have installed: VLC Media Player, Notepad++ and Balsamiq Mockups. All work well but you are forced to use the pen (or type cover/touch

Oh gawd. Please, tell us how Windows is "clumsy" to get setup on a network. Also, the "extra cost" doesn't even figure into a benchmark. Grab a 120 day trial ISO from Microsoft and install.
