The custom keyboard bubble is really deep and filled with many, many different kind of setups which makes research not really easy. To get you started: - QMK is probably the most mature firmware for non-wireless devices and widely used. Pro

I understand that they may need to adjust prices, but having a search limit just feels ... bad. Imaging being on the go, trying to look something up quickly, only to be presented with the message > Search limit reached.

Using the web and it's services really feels more and more like tedious work which is simply not worth it anymore. I don't want to sound like some old grunt (not even 30 yet), but every modern service uses some kind of automatic b

Also wanted to get into creating a local 'wiki' or knowledge base. Sadly I didn't hit the sweet spot till now. My requirements are: - future proof (at least not only a one man project) - Fast search over all informations - Fa

As the typical SysAdmin who likes to automate stuff, I have to agree. I am not experienced enough to talk about language designs. But I can say, that writing some small CLI application and deploying it onto some server is way less work with

Sounds like great news! Am excited to see, where Swift will end. I am no developer but I like to code things and script tasks (at work that's even my job). Already tried many different languages. In the end I always used Python, becaus

Looks great, really like the look of it. For me it always helps, when my daily tools look pleasing. Somehow makes working with them less tiring. Also working with Graphviz was a great experience while my thesis. Simple and easy enough to &#

Yes, i know. I really don't want to say "MacOS > Unix" because of any reasons i mentioned. I also had ArchLinux as main OS on my Desktop, and also tried a new KDE Flavor. But for me personally it was never as good as MacOS

Working with Unix-Servers every day i still would struggle with a Linux Machine. Tried it in the past and getting things to work wasn't a problem at all. But 1) i have to admit that i like all this full aluminum fuckery (shame on me) 2

Can you post your styling and userChrome setup? Sounds stupid but i like the concept of TreeStyleTabs but i always disabled it after some time. Firefox finally looks slick again on MacOS. And i want something nice to look at when i work 8+

I think that the topic 'privacy' isn't the main factor in this case. Most stuff on platforms like GitHub and GitLab are public anyway and shouldn't include any private stuff. In my case i simply want to move since i real

Already took a look at C. But my problem is: Working with all these modern languages (Clojure, Go, Elixir, ...) i got really comfortable with all these nice toolchains and package managers. I also really like the Rust toolchain. So i tried

Thank you for your tips. Of course i am already using git. Working as a solo sysadmin i often automate stuff and need some scripts which i all version control. Since i like to work as a sysadmin i have of course also my own git server etc.

I am no developer but like to toy around, build small tools and automate stuff. So i often can't wrap my head around programming stuff promoted on HN (also i simply can't wrap my head around rust since i never really learned progr

Mixing some things together, uh? You can't tell me that you windows drives you nuts, and keeps tweaking and tweaking making it worse. Still it is (your opinion) better as linux GUIs or Apple's one. And as arguments you mention pla
