Blatantly self-promoting, but we (in Australia) are trying to develop a general solution for better open data search over at https://search.data.gov.au - solution is all open source at https://github.com/magda-io

For those others who tend to go to the comments before clicking through, these aren't tools for _visual_ design, they're for _product_ design - how to pitch your product, how to plan your MVP etc. Glad to see these hit the front p

Thing is this puts it in a narrow band of competitiveness between human-driven trucks (less capital-intensive, more expensive over time) and trains or sea ports (more capital-intensive but still cheaper than automated trucks). A lot of bigg

One of the things another team at my organisation is working on is using it so that competitors can pool their data to do better analytics over the whole corpus without actually revealing their secrets to the other company - https:/&#

Partnering with industry has always been a part of the plan though - that's why it's the Commonwealth Science _and Industrial_ Research Organisation. If CSIRO doesn't partner with industry you end up with debacles like the wi

This is a massive deal for monorepos. A lerna bootstrap with yarn as the package manager takes a few minutes from scratch, with npm it takes hours.

Oh, I'd assumed the Perth->London one was the same sort of deal, but turns out it's an actual route with passengers and food and all. That is pretty impressive.

Interesting content, but it really needs a proof-read. There's entire repeated sentences that have evidently been copy-pasted during a rewrite and never deleted from their original location :/.

Probably - the equivalent law in Australia has enough loopholes to make it largely pointless anyway... particularly sending one of your children to study then buying through them. It's a crowd-pleasing law, not an effective one.
