Mainly intermittent errors clicking around the interface, particularly 404s when clicking on files that existed - they're not sure whether that was a problem in the web interface or the files actually temporarily went missing.

Github is so ubiquitous that they can't afford to move fast and break things like Gitlab can - another team at work considered moving to Gitlab to use all these new features, found bugs everywhere and eventually went back to Github.

In general that's true, but it's a bit of a different story with React because it tends to throw errors if the DOM is modified outside of it.

The problem I find with these is that while solving a problem might take 3 hours, you can spend an essentially unlimited amount of time polishing code - writing comments/javadocs, neatening up the code, writing more unit tests etc. etc

Me too, I just can't see myself ever bothering with an app to facilitate it. The other problem is that it's hard enough getting a group to agree on what restaurant to go to, getting an entire group to agree to go somewhere to meet
