Perhaps why I've not seen it before is likely due to localization - I'm in the UK and of course the Pound has it's own symbol, thus the connection of $ -> Cash -> Cache may not be so readily made.

Interesting - LUKS and Apple's Filevault take the opposite approach; wherein you must provide a password from an authorised user in order to access the contents of a filesystem/logical volume. Meaning that without authorisation yo

Formatting the partition(s) your OS is installed on is the uninstallation method. Uninstalling from the disk implies that you'll reuse the existing filesystem on the computer. Each of your named OSes has different preferences as to whi

I would hope this would not be the case - in the past few years Microsoft have gone out of their way to build bridges with the PC gaming community, bringing their traditional first party titles (Forza, Halo, etc) to PC. With Fallout and The

I can imagine that Apple is fairly happy at the moment as a customer of TSMC; they do the heavy lifting on the lithography front and Apple just provide the designs. Purchasing TSMC would lead to it having to deal with maintaining relationsh

You’re correct about the coffee shop wifi being less of a problem year on year. Though WPA3 only gets you as far as the access point you’re connecting to - you still have the rest of the networks your traffic will grace between that access

Interesting - As RHEL is downstream of Fedora, I thought BTRFS was not being explored further by Red Hat, on account of their deprecation of it downstream in RHEL. If I recall this was because they didn't have the developers able to wo

I’ve been a fan of this product for quite a while, I self host a “standard file” server and make use of standard notes writing into it to keep my personal journal. Getting everything up and running isn’t difficult at all.
