I use an oled display on my phone. Black is really nice on it and I wonder if that changes things. Also I see this defense of not using black as an excuse to have a poor contrast ratio. I really enjoy black on white or vice versa because yo

The trick for me is realizing that P doesn't easily equal NP, which means that solving satisfaction problems is a challenging thing to do. But everyone knows when it has been solved. Lots of people have an idea of what should happen, f

I've been reading happy by Derren Brown and really enjoying his take on how we keep thinking in stories and put us as the hero, when no such story exists, and failing often means very little if you think of it as a positive outcome

I guess I could have been clearer. there is no exclusive resale right. I meant because the lack of rights, there would be competition to drive down distribution costs. The idea is that the first purchaser pays full price to be able to know

What's wrong with that? The price to the first person would go up astronomically and they would get all the rights to resell it. It would be the difference of getting paid 10k upfront or 10k over the course of royalties. You would have

This is so true. What I've realized is how hard it is to get to a place where I meet people. I'm in a place that's really only accessible by car, and I don't drive. Uber works sometimes, maybe often, but not always.

That is a great point. It could still be feasible to cache the image on the client, and have it do the resize. Although I probably wouldn't accept it as a client, especially if my internet cuts out halfway through.
