What part of Numenta's model is wrong? I certainly see some guesses and simplifications in their model, especially in poorly researched areas, but I figure that's the cost of trying to get things to work.

Okay, you're right about the Wikipedia article not showing an increase in those statistics for mass transit. However, this paper does show a substitution effect for busses: http://clinlawell.dyson.cornell.edu/InTech

Which then gets people on the bus, easing the congestion. This is a well documented effect, where the opposite happens, adding more lanes increases traffic. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Induced_demand#Reduced_demand_..

I saw that study. I never saw if they kept the amount of protein people ate constant. Do you know? It seems mysteriously lacking the third macronutrient. And I can't tell from the article if there was a control "eat fat and carb&q

I've been watching their htm school videos and really enjoying them. There are a lot of new concepts, but I find it remarkable how much it matches my intuition of how my brain could work.

I'm wondering if there's lots of deadhead trips with existing commuter rail use in existing data. I was guessing that because people typically live close together who go to the same bus stop there would be less deadhead, if people

If we want ridesharing to decrease emissions and traffic, someone should subsidize it as first and last mile transit. That way cars are always at capacity (always picking up or dropping off users) and traffic gets reduced on highways (peopl

Then they'd only use the 0th and 1st positions in their number system, which would spread out the data, but as it's compressed or encoded it would still be readable. If you've ever opened a utf-8 document in a utf-16 file rea

There's an alternative: time/effort is a privilege. If I'm broke, I don't have any time to put in the effort to learn a new skill. I need to make ends meet now. If I'm privileged I have the means to take risks. I ca

In California, you are legally allowed to share your salary. I would just not accept a job where they ask my salary, if I can create a big enough market where I can make that decision.

Did the % operator not work? I just tested 1 % 10 and it seemed to compile. I used the % operator in other shaders. Remember that WebGL is ultimately a sub and superset of C.
