I found this article more informative: https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/showering-daily-is-it-ne... Interestingly the harvard article talks about perturbing the microbiome through exposure to the environment to make

I like that "praise the opposite" approach. Usually when things go smoothly, it's really easy for me to just zone out and not pay attention. It certainly seems like it takes deliberate practice to be observant of praiseworthy

They got that from the availability rate, not the vacancy rate. You can see the percentages they list in the article for each town correspond roughly to the "R&D Availability Rates Select Silicon Valley Cities" figure on Page

I like the idea of putting the exercises in and seeing muscle coverage, that's really cool! The biggest hurdle for weightlifting for me is the data entry. I usually just have a set routine I go through, and recording weight and achieve

The Spaces feature reminds me of how Movie Clips were used in the old days of Macromedia Flash, where I'd put many different often-independently-running clips overlayed on top of each other to encapsulate different behavior. Of course

One thing I realize while reading this is that, having recently signed up for a local gym, I'll lose that "alone time in the home gym", where I would often listen to podcasts and watch videos while I lift. Sure, I can get som

You could use your tech skills to do some freelancing a la Upwork, Fiverr, etc. You could look on Cofounderslab for someone looking for a tech cofounder and start a business together. You could go into one of the in-demand job fields such a

Strongly agree. JS and the DOM have come a long way in the last decade or so, and it's refreshing to be able to leverage simple solutions like the one he's suggesting. Not everything needs to start with an all-in-one package that

The gif at the top was very interesting. The shrinking of the North America and Russia were really surprising to me, as I had always looked at them as much more significant land masses. A little off-topic from projections, but I just return

This is really cool, good job on the release! I love how it gives a time and price estimate. I'm currently in the process of building an itinerary for a couple cities overseas, so this will be fun to generate ideas with. It would be a

I didn't see in the article the volume of water it can filter before the sponge is saturated, and the volume of acidic water it takes to then rinse the sponge of the metals. Also, after rinsing, how easy is it to recover the rinsed met

Does anyone know of any modern linux desktop environments that are specifically designed for 1-bit or grayscale? I really like the nice clean look as demonstrated here.

The "M" in the title is black hidden in a black square in my Firefox browser. Not the greatest first impression for a page about css. Looks like a good collection of recipes though.

I once left my kid in a minivan that had both sliding doors open and all windows open. It was in front of a house and I had just gone to the back of the house. Someone called the cops on me and also had the audacity to scold me and my wife.

I'd love to hear an answer to this question from someone in the industry. Could it somehow be added to the Open Banking standards that are becoming widely adopted, or might it be introduced in a similar manner?

On a related note, does anyone know of any algorithms that will automatically edit out non-words, stammering, etc.? When I make audiobooks and such, the editing out of mistakes and other sounds is the majority of my work.

Agreed. The OP mentions not being dependent on the weather, but I find jogging can be done regardless of the weather, it just depends on what clothing you can put on. Also, playgrounds seem to abound here in the U.S., and they're great
