I once left my kid in a minivan that had both sliding doors open and all windows open. It was in front of a house and I had just gone to the back of the house. Someone called the cops on me and also had the audacity to scold me and my wife.
People can be very quick to judge when it comes to stuff like that. They hear stories about hot car deaths and see a kid that is in no real danger but they see a car and a kid and draw a thoughtless conclusion. I'm not sure how we can as a society improve this situation though. There do seem to be a lot of PSA commercials about stuff like that, but I don't think we need to decrease those. Or would it be better to add more detail to the PSAs to clarify when someone's not in danger? Seems like overcomplicating what should be common sense...
