It's silly not to use a bundler with Rails (both for JS and CSS). That way you don't incur the performance hit from organizing project files by controller name.

I think he's referring to the fact that it crashes on him. I also think he's attributing the crashes to the new trending bar.

I like how he uses CSS transforms on the :before and :after pseudo element to give it that "lifted" effect. That's something I never thought to try before.

What kind of syntax highlighting does this app support? I copy/pasted some HTML with script and style tags and none of it got any sort of coloring.

There is a way to create new files and folders in the lower left-hand corner if you pull out the tray on the left.

The function in the click handler does take a parameter 'e' (...or whatever you call it) which is an Event object. But I think you're on to something by using currying.

If you run the code you'll find that they all alert('4'). However, the third parameter of els.addEventListener() so you'll get an exception if you run the code verbatim.

I like his point that the core of the debate should really be about choice. But then he lost me when he characterized the MPEG-LA as a ruthless cartel.

I had a friend who did history research in Hollywood for movie companies. That is one example of a non-academic historian. Heck, you could even say that some news reporters and non-fiction book authors are modern day historians.

It has long descenders and ascenders which make it easy for dyslexic readers to differentiate letters. Dyslexic readers also find handwritten looking fonts easier to read because they are more familiar with that style.

It's the holiday season. Of course there are going to be discounts. If you follow a couple of the links in the article you'll find that some of those discount were temporary promotions.

This article says a lot about HTML5 but I don't think the author actually knows what it is. He's not a programmer and he seems to start from the position that programming languages are things which can be "owned."

I've seen a handful of these in my career as an Search Engine Optimizer. I often ignore them since there is good chance it is a scam and the author of the e-mail may not even be affiliated with the website in question.

The fact about $625 of revenue from every iPhone sold last year kinda boggles my mind. Where is the extra revenue coming from after they account for the $300 price tag?

The sites built for marketing Microsoft products are often outsourced. So the fact that the new Xbox website was broken in any regard is the fault of a poor marketing manager and not a poor Microsoft developer.

I feel like this article and others which mention Tim Ferris start with a premise that isn't true for all people. They assume that 100% of our time is our own and we are free to use it as we choose. For myself, I find that large portions of
