I'm sure there's some great schema implementation that you can bolt onto JSON, but personally I have never seen anyone actually using one in the wild. With protobuf the schema is essential, it is the foundation. I feel this is a h

It's simple, lightweight, safe serialization. If you need to convert data structures to bytes, you're going to use protobuf or something comparable.

Binding generation is really difficult to approach as a general problem, which is why I've found that SWIG unfortunately doesn't help much in non-trivial cases. All the good bindings I use are generated by custom systems (ie, usua

Gibson's "Burning Chrome" casually predicts lifestreaming ("simstim"). We don't have the sci-fi tech, but as a social phenomenon it's exactly Instagram, parts of Twitch, etc.

Like others have said, I think this really just comes down to experience. Keep at it, become comfortable with the languages, and it shouldn't be an issue. Writing beautiful idiomatic code in multiple languages is a big challenge, but

Time limited trials are always a feels-bad moment for me, an extra deadline I now have to plan around. Another option I like is providing some amount of free credit that doesn't expire. So you're not on the hook for providing a &q

I really wonder about the programmers who feel threatened by LLMs. The vast majority of my daily work in software engineering does not remotely boil down to "write code for a discrete isolated task". It's all about solving di

Just eyeballing Geekbench scores for iPhones, CPU/GPU/NPU are all about 3x faster, and RAM capacity has doubled. Do you need all that extra power? I dunno, but it's a pretty big difference.
