Exactly - music in the future will be algorithms. (Edit: to clarify, I mean instead of something like an MP3, you could download an algorithm that creates music on the fly. Why bother with recordings when you can have the live composer?)

I still think it is impossible because nobody can be an expert in everything, and furthermore, it is something I personally don't want to do. I have other interests than politics.

I'm not saying the current system delivers, just that I think politicians should do work that I then won't have to.

I don't see a way around it (doesn't mean there isn't one), because how would you identify the economics expert? Seems to me it would still boil down to marketing, the "expert" who advertises himself the best would win. Obviously that adver

I'm torn on the issue. In my view a politician is actually a service provider doing the mundane tasks I can't be bothered to do. It would be a huge waste of time if a majority of people had to keep up to date on all political issues. Most o

Almost every web site has a Facebook button. That's how they do it. There is also the possibility of web site owners cooperating on the server side to track users. Maybe not as common yet, but not inconceivable.

How would Facebook know who likes porn (except assuming everybody likes porn, obviously)? Those who say so on their Facebook profile are presumably not very concerned about that information leaking out?

Frankly, I am not sure how many people actually have a good use for their Pi. I've got one, and I am struggling to find a use. I already have a NAS, so stuff like home automation and whatever I would first try to run via the NAS to limit th

While I also think it is sad if somebody decides to resort to that service, lets not forget that these "women" are virtual. No real humans are being hurt.

Most people choose the blue pill, a ka it seems Chomsky is not for everyone. It seems easy to debunk that whole criticism, but what is the point. People believe what they want to believe (which is what benefits them to believe). Just an exa

Teaching creationism would lend it credibility. A lot of people are just impressed by authority/teachers and will believe what they are being told.

I suppose they just followed another strategy for selling, which I personally don't like. It's just a shame because with the build to order thing, they would have been halfway there.

Aren't Dell and Apple still the only two companies where you can have a computer built to order? The difference is that Dell never managed to create a web interface to their shop that doesn't suck.

I agree if you talk about a subjective feeling of purpose. It's depressing to feel you can not achieve what you aspire to. I don't agree that an external power that prescribes some random notion of purpose is necessary.

The problem with Referer is that only the server/host get's to see it. Often people publish their stuff on other people's platform, and can't access the stats.

I think you are mixing some things together. For starters, you should distinguish between a "life's purpose" that you set for yourself, and one that you assume for other people. You can only decide for yourself, not for other people. You ma

I'm glad it works for you, but I find it sad that atheism and life having no purpose depresses you. That life has no purpose effectively means that there is freedom. It is very scary, but we have to choose the purpose for ourselves. What we
