At least for maritime terminal many of them can use external GPS source, so it is very simple to spoof GPS. However, that would also mean the terminal would connect to the satellite on wrong frequency as it would think it is in a spot beam

There is a GPS in the terminal and I can guarantee the gps data is transmitted to Starlink noc/hub in real time. It's trivial to geoblock terminals.

Many satcom operators geoblock their terminals in regions where they do not have license to transmit. This is trivial as both modem and hub/nms/noc will have the gps data from the equipment. Most governments don't care enough

Maybe, but you would look like a dork. Most people don't want to look like dorks, so I doubt we'll see widespread use of this product in public.

People said this about voice assistants as well, we would get used to talking to them in public after a little while. I've still not seen anyone speaking to Siri or Google in public. The only thing most people use them for is setting t

What I love best with my Apple Watch is that I can respond to Duo/Okta/BankId directly from my watch and don't have to look for my phone or pull it out of my pocket.

I agree with you, but not about the Vision Pro. I could see the potential and use cases for the iPhone, iPad, AirPods, Apple Watch, Apple TV. This headset though? It's a gimmick. I can see some niche use cases for it in very specific i

The first self-checkouts in Norway around 10 years ago implemented this weight thing to prevent shoplifting, but they dropped it pretty quick. Now there's just random spot checks (which can be frustrating enough when it happens). I enc

Back in the early 00's when we still had analogue VHF TV signals, we wanted to watch the football world cup at school. Of course there was no cable or anything at the school and no VHF antenna and streaming was not a possibility yet so

This number is more or less the same in Norway as well for air-to-air pumps without subsidies. Keep in mind that oil/gas heating and such is not normal, we've used electricity and firewood for heating for the most part. So replac

Holy baloney that's expensive. What can you do when your elderly parent is suffering from dementia and can barley walk anymore and neither you nor they have that kind of money to spend?

With a «right to roam» law this isn’t a problem. Most land around me is private, but with the right to roam I can move over private land as long as it is not farmland or someone’s house property (garden, parking lot etc). You can also move
