I'd say that Apple's position is bad for Apple's business. Bit their nose off to spite their face as it were.

The married man in this example is not making enough to support his family at 60k. The obvious conclusion is that he would not be working this job if he were making that 60k. Those same forces apply to the women - if she were not making end

I found this video interesting for two reasons: 1) How often do alarming system failures (as Rube Goldberg-esk as these systems can be) result in actual deaths? In this case multiple layers of alarm systems failed simultaneously - leaving 2

Fun Fact: New Arm 9 chips are still coming out to this day. They are the highest performing Arm chips that feature generic external bus interfaces.

I'm shocked that anyone would see arrest as a solution to this problem. Thats just great - 3 hots and a kot to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars a year. Great idea.

The midwest should not be salting roads at all anyway. Its terrible for the environment, your car, and everything else. Salt use has been prohibited in northern climates such as Alaska for decades because of its damaging effects.

I would advise leaving your faucets running when your plumbing reaches near freezing temperatures. Turning off your water supply will not save you from leaks if your pipes remain full of water.

It would be worth it to look at the State of Alaska financial situation. The world of oil isn't going to last forever, and those dividends will be among the first to perish.

It is far more likely that these CPUs have the capability to throttle power usage instantaneously. If the battery monitor detects a problematic energy draw, it should have the capability to correct it before the CPU shuts down.

You CAN configure it to show the old-style mute/down/up with the touch bar, so you are not relegated to the ultra-shitty slider. No replacement for a tactile switch, but at least you are not stuck with the default arrangement.

I don't think that is a universal rule - that equipment fees make back many times the cost of the device. A high end DVR may cost close to 1000$ and a 20$/month equipment fee will barely break even over the life of the device...

What impact did this have? Is this a problem because humans built a reservoir there? Have those ecosystems recovered? How long ago? And what of those ecosystems down stream that would have benefited from the influx in nutrients?

Fires are not a major cause of erosion. I'm not sure why you would think that - fires do not obliterate the organic material that binds soils together. You are conflating human land clearing with forest fires. Any loss of plant life du

This conveys a lack of understanding of the lifecycle of a forest. When old and dead trees are removed, there are more resources available for new growth. Yes, available light/water/nutrients are the limiting factor on new growth

How would this actually work? Memory access on your non-ecc processor is (for example) 64 bits wide. Your data is using all 64 bits. Perhaps you would only use 56 bits for user data and 8 bits of ecc data on every read? Suddenly you need tw

You seem to be commenting on cost figures, but have not actually identified the cost / sales volume relationship. ECC memory physically requires additional wires, necessitating different parts that don't sell at the same volumes.
