Those benchmarks were debunked, they don't represent anything.

This is pretty much how pt-online-schema-change from Percona works. Good old MySQL days...

Rust does not enforce error checking either. You can ignore errors in Rust.

"Rapidly", so most people don't even know the story about Redis changes and I would say 99.99 never heard about Valkey.

And yet you can use s3 with the same level of availability and capabilities without the need to pay for support.

Just a small point but google.com and YouTube do not run on the same infra as what you see on GCP, especially if you use GKE etc... It's trivial to see because when GCP is down somehow Google and Gmail keep working.

You wrap errors with fmt.Errorf(). I work on Go daily and I don't need a stacktrace to tell me where the problem is, the error is self explanatory.

You can ignore errors in most languages, rust included.

It's not a good practice to print stack trace anyway, you have a network timeout, you don't need 20 lines of stacktraces. Most logger in Go can it though.

Pauses are kind of solved but the CPU usage for the GC is still pretty high. You're still at the mercy of unpredictable tail latency and other corner cases.

In most languages enum suck, it's not specific to Go, lot of pitfall and ABI issues, even my modern languages like C# have those.

Because it's not the language that matters here, the performance comes from the architecture of the storage among other things. I've seen Go code best Rust one, really when comparing languages you should look at the same implement

I keep reading about Nix and I still don't understand what it does better than Docker, all the example in the post are trivial to do in a Dockerfile so where is the added value? Docker build are deterministic and easily reproductible,

I don't see a difference between GC languages and others, so your secret is in a rust heap then what? Every language have their memory exposed, GC has nothing to do with it.
