I don't think anyone was implying that alcohol was a healthy stress reducing option. I assume they were referring to the oft cited myth that red wine has cardiovascular benefits.

A low (R)HR isn't always indicative of good health. High blood pressure can cause your HR to drop, for instance. I hope they're actively researching their data set, I suspect we can learn a lot from it. They might even be able to

Are you referring to the ailing Belgian reactors? The ones with the cracks, the mysterious sabotage and the endless string of non-critical malfunctions? The ones that are currently offline until the end of the year for maintenance?

With every iteration, Lenovo seems compelled to further reduce the typing experience. They went from having awesome keyboards to having keyless keyboards. I guess I won't be getting any new Yoga devices then.

Are you referring to GDPR? As far as I can tell, the data is allegedly anonymous, so not subject to GDPR. Even if it weren't, Google doesn't exactly have a good track record of respecting privacy or privacy related laws. They'

> People in Europe don't use credit cards offline. What? Of course we do. If anything, Europeans are less likely to use credit cards online (though that is slowly changing), instead opting for bank transfers or online debit cards.

There are heat pumps which use CO2 as their refrigerant. Apparently they are more efficient (and less potentially hazardous for people and climate) than most alternatives.

That's mostly true, but only if the temperature difference isn't too high. During the coldest days of winter -- or when boiling water, I'd imagine -- the COP can be as low as 1, ie the same as resistive heating.

I lived on 4hrs/night when I was 15-16. I had so many wonderfully interesting things to do, discover and work on. I don't recall ever feeling tired at that age, and I wish I could go back to that level of drive and energy.

I'm not sure why you're being down voted. This is a legitimate question. Humans are endurance hunters, that much is clear. You can't rely on endurance to escape from a faster predator with bigger teeth and sharper claws. The

You can see many (cheaper) leds flicker out of the corner of your eye. Especially led strips. This drives me nuts around xmas, when streets are decorated with cheap, flickering leds.

Everything is nonsense about it. In most parts of the world, setting up to be a contractor (as opposed to an employee) is a hassle with various implications (tax, retirement, insurance,..). Doing it for a couple of weeks as part of a hiring

Which is a really awful way of hiring. Forcing someone to go through the hassle of being a contractor for a couple of weeks, only so you can decide whether you want to hire them afterwards. I suggest you don't try this in Belgium, wher
