You bring up the question of how the debt is settled. That is out of the scope of my question. The debt could be settled in any number of ways. For example, Alice could give Bob the $100 she owes him. Or not be settled at all. Or Alice coul

But Charles will say he can’t take a debt as payment unless it is done through a party his bank trusts Charles just takes an "Bob owes you $50" as payment. Just like Bob took an "Alice owes you $100" from A

Yet B has to pay taxes for it. The government will say "Oh, there is $100 more on your books! You have to pay us $25.". If that $100 in the books is not money, what is it?

They're the only participants who are allowed to loan out an unlimited amount of money I'm not talking about loaning. I'm talking about "A and B agree that A owes B $100".

The economy wide sum might be zero. But still the $100 have been created, right? Imagine an economy where there is no money at all. Nobody can buy anything. Now Alice and Bob agree that Alice owes Bob $100. Now Bob has $100 in his books. Bo

Can everybody create money? If Alice and Bob agree that Alice owes Bob $100, Bob will have show this $100 in his books and pay taxes on it. Does this mean Alice and Bob have created $100? Are there other players, who can create money that i

If the web was not a giant shift, then I don't know what is. If mobile was not a giant shift, then I don't know what is. The web created a searchable, worldwide instant knowledge base in which mankind shares what it knows. Mobile

We are talking about how long back in time we can go and still find a Youtube video of a car driving itself as well as they do now. The video you posted is two weeks old.

I said "20 years", not "less than a decade". When has there been some truly "giant shift" Some examples: Cars replaced horses. Email replaced letters. Phones replaced desktops. Phones

That is a hand-selected collection of seconds long snippets. By the manufacturer. That does not give me any sense of how well this car can drive itself.

When I came here 10 minutes ago, this was the top comment: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=34335123 Calling the article "complete horseshit". That sounds hateful to me.

For some reason, a large part of HN users seem to hate every fundamentally new technology. It seems the majority here thinks the next 20 years will be like the last 20 years, with only minor, gradial improvements. And every idea of a bigger

The main usage of computers even before mobile phones was to browse the web, read and write emails and play games. Web and mail is mostly done on phones now. Not sure about games. The use cases you mention are much smaller. Steve Jobs had

Tablets replaced computers for the most part. They are just a good bit smaller than we expected and have the capability to do phone calls. Mobile is a much bigger market than Desktop these days.

How does it matter if a company buys or builds new projects? Betting on the right things is a hugely valuable skill. See Android, Youtube, Instagram, Tesla ... All projects that someone believed in, bought them, put money in, and then they

DO app platform is rather new. It will probably be in flux for the forseeable future. And then you have to dabble with changes. With barebones LAMP you can be a happy camper.

You make it sound like you have to edit your code inside the container. I don't do that. I edit it on the host OS. I just run the code inside the container.

I have no experience with that as I use pudb for debugging, which I simply run inside the container.
