Anybody who doesn't use a dev VM these days is asking for trouble. It's too easy for attackers to run malicious code on your machine with techniques like this.

I love Grant Sanderson's YT channel. His video on Fourier transforms is amazing.

sudoaza, do you think its a coincidence that the virus outbreak began about 1/2 a mile from the Wuhan Institute of Virology? Your argument is that Dr. Montagnier must be wrong because he believes in some crazy stuff, and you must be ri

This is the guy who discovered the AIDS virus, also won a Nobel prize for medicine.

Is this appropriate for HN? This seems like a purely political story, probably not the right place for it.

I was wondering why it took so long for a simple random sample study to be done, but finally it has been done, and the result is pretty much as I expected - millions are carrying the virus, making the true mortality rate tiny. This looks li

You're absolutely right. 10X for point 1. Millions of people are carrying this virus by now. Most (probably 99.99% of "contacts" do not result in transmission), and the virus is airborne ffs, it could easily blow down wind an

I wouldn't be so quick to judge, usually when something like this happens there's some bad blood. If these people are reasonably good at what they do I doubt this will affect their chances of getting hired. They also don't ne

Sample size is far too small. If anything this study shows (albeit with small numbers) that HCQ doesn't make things worse. But I have a feeling HCQ will be found to be effective. Big pharma have a lot of $$$ to make from their vaccine

I did the exact same. I used to be a Godaddy customer and had a bunch of domains with them. One day I cancelled some of them, but when I did this it didn't auto-cancel the associated services, as I expected, so they continued to char

Get yourself a 4-color pen, or 4 separate pens, some highlighters, and in your own time (not in class), read the material from several sources - Wikipedia, text book, your professor's notes, understand the topic, then write your notes

I'm sure Google has the edge in terms of technical know-how but launching a successful game streaming service is about so much more than getting pixels on a screen fast. I think Stadia has come about 20 years too early. Cloud gaming ma

If Google want to get into gaming, they should have released a high-spec console with android OS, which could play existing android games, but also compete with PS4 and the upcoming PS5. If they did that, they could offer cloud gaming as a

I knew Stadia would fail when I first heard about the project. It's a gaming product built by people who clearly have no idea about gaming or typical domestic internet connections. If they had done some basic market research they could

Solo people working on projects aren't too bad so long as they communicate the work they're doing and document it well. Some people just work better on their own. IMO, what's worse are "knowledge hoarders". Usually
