Blatantly copying is a bad idea. Understanding why they're different, and figuring out the motivations behind their (different) choices and then reflecting on the choices you've made for your product is a good idea. Jason F at 37Signals wro

I think David has the right idea, but is framing the problem in the wrong way. The problem is that startup founders don't know the difference between work and play. When you're working, you better damn well be sure you're refreshed, thinkin

As for the pricing page, that's great feedback. We really want people to go with the smallest plan to get a feel for how a BrainTrust works and then move on from there. I think we can work a bit harder to make that thought process a bit mor

We're seeing a couple of markets here, the "business advisory board for the business owner" market being the most pormising one. It's too early to tell which ones will pan out. This really falls into the category of "Forum 2.0" -- except we

Has YCombinator or some other sort of startup incubator considered offering health plans for startups? We're a pretty uniform population, low risk, and probably a bit smarter about lifestyle choices. I could imagine a package deal (office s

I think this comparison shows a fundamental difference between Facebook and Twitter. Twitter is really trying to find a use-case and serve a purpose that in some way adds to the productivity of this planet. Whereas Facebook's goal seems to

I thought the tidbit of how the engineer moved from California to New York was interesting. Seems like New York is really growing to be a hotbed for awesome startups. Watch out San Fran!
