I think "water cooler" talk is over stated because many companies will have different channels to discuss these kinds of things. You no doubt loose the face to face human interaction, but there are other ways to account for this.

Not OC, but for me it's just a real wonder why it's not better embraced at this stage of the game. We have all the tools to accommodate collaboration within remote teams and in (most) places the broadband to handle it. Add to this

While instant coffee has a negative stigma I'm happy to see the speciality community stepping into this space as a way to possibly move people away from these machines. While the cost value is still not great (~$4 a cup) it's far

Leave them out and as they begin to get soft & ripe place them in the fridge. It'll slow it down, like bananas, and keep them ripe a little longer. When i was using avocados as snacks this was the only way I could keep them for mul

This kind of falls into the same problem as wikis though. It requires people to A. remember it's there and B. be actively monitoring it for questions. We have one at my location and I constantly forget it's a thing. With something

I love that Bandcamp integrates lyrics into their player. It helps to re-create that intimate experience of listening to an album for the first time with your liner notes open.

I absolutely loathe yelp reviews. Far too many people trying to act like professional reviewers spending 500 words on setting the scene of the restaurant only to end up on 2/5 stars because of something ridiculous like bad lighting. Th

I've used the ferry a handful of times to take my bike in, but it definitely caters to a very specific clientele. It's simply not worth it unless you live right there or work right where it lets off.

There's other ways into NYC from NJ that aren't the train. There are many ferry options along the hudson, and nothern shore area has a commuter ferry that is 40 minutes to Wall St.

Reasonably priced homes within 45 minutes of NYC, via train, are definitely not a thing. You're also not even counting our absurd taxes in places like Morristown, Montlcair, Fair Lawn, etc.

It's still far more generous that what Vimeo is offering: 5GB total storage & 500MB uploads a _week_. 1000 photos can go a long way if used in the way Flickr was originally intended, which as you noted was a portfolio of sorts.
