My current strategy is twofold: - First, allow yourself to feel whatever you will feel. This is unavoidable. Let it be. Not only you are not your work, you are not what you feel. - Also, recognize that no right decision can be made in a sta

This shows how insanely optimized game engines are, and game development in general. All enterprise software is optimised in man/hours, as in the maximum amount of features for some given hours of work. Enterprise customers will then i

Famously, they didn't support Windows for the first decade of their existence, and that did cost them a tremendous amount of market share against MySQL. By their technical merits, PostgreSQL should be the most used DB.

I think looking only at technologies is the wrong approach. The underlying concepts stay the same. Your own experience is much improved. Some old technology gets replaced? I celebrate the demise of Flash. I am not Flash or even a Flash deve

You are confusing two concepts here. In InnoDB, the tables are always ordered by the primary key when written to actual disk storage. This is not the same as "having a primary key", Postgres also has primary keys. It just stores t

There are no other software products called Firefox (right now). Foxes are not software. There is Microsoft Windows Ink which does handwriting recognition. Think about namespaces, in the software namespace, Ink is a loaded term, and most of

The grid system of wxWidgets also works like that. It has drag-and-drop design tools, and copy-paste, and it can be written programmatically. So the best of both worlds exists, and it is just not used enough. wxWidgets has Python bindings.

Why would it be called Ink if it doesn't recognize my laptop's pen? It makes no sense, just more search engine noise. FYI: I use the pen with a gnome app called Write, in Ubuntu 22.04.

No colours? Any non-coloured terminal feels dead to me. Half of the things I do in my dot files are related to adding colours. Including some long colour parameter string to be used with midnight commander.

Firefox, for me, was very slow between 2019 and 2021. I used Firefox exclusively from 2016 to 2020, until I had to stop, because it just became unusable. Now in 2023 Firefox is fast again, but so is Edge. As soon as Edge was usable, I ditch
