I ride one in London (Soho) and it has never been an issue. You just get off and walk it when you are near people.

This is absurd. I live in Soho (Zone 1, as central/touristy as it gets), with my partner + 1 housemate. We pay £2400, split £1400/£1000. The flat is nice too (fresh renovation, not an ex-council flat). This is a dystopia to me.

Dude, this was great. Been looking to get into Erlang, but the "unfamiliarity" always shunned me away. Really nice talk.

Maybe you're right, progress is inevitable. But humans always overestimate the rate of progress, and think we will be living in some amazing futurescape in the next 10 years.

"Are you saying X" is a pretty aggressive way to frame your argument. The above poster seems pretty clear that it is NOT obvious that cars will necessarily drive safer than humans on average, in the same way it is NOT obvious that

Australia is part of the "citizens of the crown" in that we are part of the Commonwealth. The reason we travel far easier, is that Australia is an incredibly young country (1901), so most people are < 2 generations away from Eu

I moved from Australia -> London. I just took a leap of faith. I had a (small) amount of savings, that could keep me a float for 3-4 months. I interviewed a couple of companies (both start ups and big corps) over the phone while still in

Similar situation with Amazon Tickets, they threw money at it, then abruptly stopped. I imagine they do this a lot in a lot of industries to see what sticks.

I am one of these readers, and didn't realise I would do it until recently (subconsciously double clicking, on sections I am reading). I'm glad there are others, given the (although w/ heavy selection bias) responses here on

That’s clearly different. Same question could be asked for any banking app.

The other comments have hit the nail on the head. The game is considered "very fast" mechanically so a slight change in screen rendering is a big deal. People claim they can see the difference between a CRT vs LED with the same in

The competitive Super Smash (Melee) community still uses them, and the good ones (like the trinitrons) are highly coveted.

This is a well communicated argument. In the same vein, if a database is breached and personal information leaked, I think most people here would agree it is the company/system at fault, rather than some scapegoat programmer/sys-a

I went to Ghent for the first time this year, just passing through. That place is amazing, getting rid of cars should be a #1 priority for city centres with ANY foot traffic.

You're right I should have. The reason I mentioned the Male one, was the recency in the story, and probably a little bias on the topic. My bad :(.

Shazam operates on my street! Was an interesting surprise... This feels like a natural acquisition to compete w/ some of Googles offering w/ the latest Pixel 2. The fact Shazam is 18 years old is crazy. Pre-dates "apps"

Maybe you could compare old posts against the mean at the time. E.g X standard deviations above the average = score.

That's a hard question, based around the market sentiment of the new coin. In theory, yes, the value is split. The value is only derived from speculation, and the speculative value of the coin 1ms pre-fork must be the same as the value

Another relevant rule: `Rule #9: Don't ever do anything you don't understand.` I feel like this could apply to a lot of cryptocurrency evangelists (not all of course).
