Interesting, in selfhosted discussions, I usually hear about that as a negative (it comes up frequently in the seafile - nextcloud comparison). It makes sense, but I hadn’t heard the pro-part of the argument before.

I don't really see those comments, everyone usually talks about how people are stupid for getting cloud devices instead of going local with something like home assistant

Oh, that sounds really cool. I like declaring expected size, but "throw on certain behaviors" would be something I’d love in MS SQL.

Oh wow, wanted to write "that does not exist", but finally found it unexpectedly under "configure website toggling". Thanks, that will remove a big annoyance if it works :D

That is sadly not the case. I disable dark reader for all sites supporting darkmode because it always changes them.

Short in, slow out when I’m almost sleepy enough, guided 4-7-8-0 (4 seconds breathing in, hold for 7, breathe out for 8) when I need to sleep but am simply not tired enough, and guided box breathing for stress.

Didn’t know it has a name, but I frequently do that when I’m not calm enough to sleep.

Slightly older WebForms (I know) project. New stuff gets done in vanilla or Vue, but there’s a lot of jQuery there that certainly will not be replaced without great reason.

I can't confirm that, I always think in whole words when typing. This goes so far that my brain sometimes gets too far ahead, and I start typing homophones.

If I had done that, I'd have had the choice between not keeping up, or having issues reading the material again, later.

So this is essentially postgres only? Or how will it handle e.g. MS SQL Schemas and output?

There’s more of a difference than just smart/not-smart, though. US tends to have those giant two-door fridges, we usually have single-door, stacked, fridge-freezer combinations.

Is that hyperbole regarding fridges, or is it really that bad in the USA? Here in Germany, the vast majority of fridges are still just fridges.

Yeah, I had a bit of a brain fart, the E in EPA made me think Europe, despite me actually knowing what it stands for. I luckily have nothing like that in my water.

Hah. None in my town, but I was a bit confused why the small nearby town had 52. Turns out they have a pinball museum ;)

Yeah, my gaming (obviously I'm not playing AAA action games) PC runs on a 350W PSU and is rarely audible.

I have a cheap (well, also old, there wasn’t too much else back then, it’s 10 years old) iRobot Roomba 620 and am very happy with it. Extremely repairable, which is not something I read about modern ones of any manufacturer.

Huh, interesting. Some quick googling suggests, this is relatively new, as a new law regarding streaming services came into effect in 2021, forcing streaming services to post, and bc didn't want the hassle. Before the law, they could r

Agreed, it was an amazing show that was far more intelligent and often prescient that one would expect from a 24 episodes/season show.

Same here, only I don’t use an external service and simply use my own domain for unique email addresses.

My router supports it, but for my ISP asking for ipv6 risks getting put into a CGNAT for v4, so I choose to live without v6.

While this is a disastrous ruling, it also will very likely not stand in the higher court that will handle the appeal. But great that our idiotic hacker tool law from 2007 is finally getting some international exposure.

Yeah, of course. But the issue would still be the same in this case.
