This has been really fascinating to watch. A patch just landed in Pion DTLS[0] yesterday to make the fingerprinting harder. I don't remember all the commits, but the Tor devs are absolutely amazing to work with and submit patches that

I have been having so much fun doing Retro stuff. Vogons is the place to be for this area. I bought a Compaq Presario 4505. Then did lots of upgrades * Ram to 64MB * CPU is a 233MMX * 512KB COAST * Voodoo 3 3000 PCI * IDE -> SATA with a

It is a shame. I don't see any easy answer. I am working on sfu-to-sfu[0] and hope it can make some traction. If we can get all the Open Source WebRTC servers working together, maybe there is hope? I believe WebRTC did the right thing.

1) I don't think WebRTC has a specific point. Lots of users came together with their use cases and was designed by consensus. WebRTC can (and does) have toggles around latency/buffering. 2.) I am not aware of a way you can no keyf

1.) Why can't you buffer on the client side for WebRTC? That sounds like a client issue (what library were you using?) not the protocol. 2.) I use the same tactic as HLS. Generate your video with a reasonable (~2 seconds) keyframe inte

I am heavily biased toward WebRTC. Here is my take on it though! > It's incredibly complex as a specification What is complex about it? I can go and read the IETF drafts, webrtcforthecurious.com, https://github.com/a

Huge fan of Tinygo. I use it for the reduced WASM sizes. I see ~10x reduction when using it. I am working on a project that does some business logic/text parsing[0] that I want to be available on multiple platforms. With TinyGo + wasme

Yea! TURN can just be the authorization/entry point into your network. The SFU is in charge of actually shuffling the packets between peers. You will need to use a SFU to reuse outbound streams unfortunately. Happy to help more on htt

In some cases a TURN server is still required[0] Until ICE supports TLS/DTLS it is worth deploying. I hope to fix this in the near future though! [0] https://stackoverflow.com/questions/61287054/understanding-

I am so impressed how quickly LiveKit has developed and become polished. If you missed it they wrote a really good article on it here[0] I also really love as a company how LiveKit operates. I work on an Open Source library they use (Pion).

All the work LiveKit is doing makes me so excited for the future of WebRTC. WebRTC as a protocol can't offer these optimizations out of the box. It requires a opinionated layer on top of it. It frustrates me seeing companies claiming t

The constant bitrate idea is really interesting, I think we could do it! I wonder if we can publish a constant rate at the public API of if it would take some interaction with the Congestion Controller in SCTP.

I can't seem to respond simulate-me because our comments are too deeply nested. Pion doesn't have a way to exactly implement your business logic. You have two choices (and they both can be implemented with Pion) * Store everything
