What language/ecosystem doesn't have a implementation where you want one?

I think you can do it in a weekend, maybe two! You are going to implement the simplest parts. This is what it would look like. It also depends on what libraries you have available. # Accepting an Offer Parse the Session Description (remote&

What libraries have you used? There are a lot these days, maybe you haven't tried one yet that matches the way you think/code :) * https://github.com/aiortc/aiortc (Python) * GStreamer’s webrtcbin (C) * http

If you want to do servers or embedded you shouldn’t. It makes sense to use in the places it was designed for though! If you are shipping a client and have needs that match its creators it’s the best choice. What features of libwebrtc in par

Twilio is shutting down those APIs :( It's a shame. Lots of people built their first things/got introduced to WebRTC via it.

I don't! But when adding WebRTC support to OBS I would see 120ms https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/pull/7926 This is me (Ohio) going to a Digital Ocean Droplet (NY) and back.

Pion's approach to the problem is different to the software you have described. Instead of configuring a server you are given primitives (SIP and WebRTC in this case). I find this powerful when trying to implement use cases that go off

Yep! I work at LiveKit full time now. https://github.com/dennwc and I wrote livekit/sip. This code was the prototype/how I learned SIP+WebRTC.

Would it make sense to run a bridge for Asterisk to call into? Most WebRTC services will have proprietary signaling, so you will have to write some signaling code. ``` Asterisk -> Bridge -> WebRTC Service ``` You could do it all in As

Really exciting times for WebRTC in general right now! If you are new to WebRTC and want to learn more about the protocol check out [0] (would love peoples feedback). It is used in lots of unexpected places like streaming (added to OBS)[1]

Why not? If I get a number via Twillio/$X is the receiver of the call able to tell? I haven't spent a lot of time with SIP and POTS stuff. All my time has been WebRTC and got into SIP for work.

That’s a cool idea. Do you see this server as a way make it easier to build ‘P2P first apps’? Have some signaling and make Data Channel so can be a peer also.

How did you end up on/hear about Zoom? I am in a bubble with Pion. Open Source devs from different companies all are chatting/contributing to projects/doing talks. Zoom isn't active so assumed all they had was a conferen

I see 1 and 2 as going in the opposite directions. WebTransport+WebCodec enables the shipping of binary blobs for each individual service. WHIP+WHEP might see enough demand (OBS input) that locked down services have to offer it. What cloud

WebRTC does have the concept of ABR/renditions, it is know as Simulcast [0] Agree on no segments. WebRTC CDNs are built differently because of this. Your infrastructure looks like a tree, the nodes at the edges are what viewers connect
