Do you have a good story that will resonate with hiring managers on why you are making the switch from small to big? Most won’t be excited to hire the guy that pushed hard for years and now “wants to coast”. I’m not saying that’s you, but i

Look at existing companies in that space, eg https://antimetal.com/ , for inspiration and to see if what you are doing already exists.

Ever download a 100GB game? The 5x speed increase from 200mbit to 1gbit is significant. Most families have kids that game.

I disagree with this being presented as if it was special. It’s standard operating procedure for intelligence agencies worldwide.

I doubt that was the decision process. It’s much more likely that there is a directive coming down from the top that “we need to go all in on AI”, which then gets amplified down by middle management and the result is AI smeared over all res

The AI answers are nowhere near good enough to always be at the top, without any clear indication that they are just a rough guess. Especially for critical things like visa requirements or medical information. When you search Google for the

I think that view is overly generous. On flights where free check in luggage is offered there’s plenty of room for carry ons in the cabin, so a good amount of people clearly opt for check in when it is free. When they started charging for c

I’ve “only” been coding for 20 years, but it’s the tedious problems, not the actually technically hard problems that cursor solves. I don’t need to debug 5 edge cases any more to feel like I’ve truly done the work, I know I can do that, it’

Asus routers still ship with IPv6 disabled by default, to this day. It makes perfect business sense, as everything still works just as well with v4 but single stack is less complexity so less support costs, etc. I’ve been running my home LA

I’m surprised that the article doesn’t mention the complete lack of pedestrian safety, which is so bad the truck can’t be sold in Europe. Geico might not want to pay those claims of sharp steel edges ripping into people.

Love the app but you lost me at “subscription”. I would totally pay for major upgrades when fixes are indeed needed, but not per month or year by default.

I think the question you are really asking is if payment rails should be a public utility or publicly owned (government run) service.

The problem is the large amount of people with nothing to loose and no realistic path to a better future. If your day to day reality is as bad as jail, you might as well shoplift or camp illegally or whatever. What are they going to do? Hou

Prepaid sounds great unless you ever want roaming, it’s either straight up not possible or priced in a way that makes it impractical.

People need to think about the special use case that is car rental. Having to figure out an unfamiliar car in an unfamiliar city with tight time constraints like being on time for meetings or a flight, the car takes 30+ minutes to “fill up”

COBRA is retroactive and you have up to 60 days to opt in, so for the people bridging a gap between 2 jobs it isn’t worth paying in advance. Having the paperwork ready in case you need it is enough.

Costco attracts people who ascribe a very low value to their own time, just look at the 20+ car lines to save a few bucks on gas. It’s no surprise that type of customer tolerates a line to have their receipt checked.

Wow! 20 years or so ago, I remember working in IT and only a few of us ran Linux in otherwise fully Microsoft shops. Exchange was always one of these things that it was tough to find a good client for. We would have been over the moon!

Moca is a fantastic option if you have a good quality coax run, ideally point to point without splitters. For example a lot of people at some point pulled coax from wherever the cable enters the house to their living room. Now when you get

Natural gas prices have gone through the roof in CA, people with old gas furnaces are the hardest hit in winter. We saved quite a bit when we upgraded to a heat pump.

I specifically referred to this episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCbqfBAhmPY . I do not recall him talking about pregnant mothers using Cannabis. Do you have a source (video link, ideally with timestamp) for that?

I'd guess that it makes it better at first, worse in the long run. Depression and anxiety are known Cannabis withdrawal symptoms, so it seems like drinking to cure a hangover. There's a great Huberman episode on Canabis/THC.
