I'm curious how a voltage spike would have gotten through the computer PSU conversion to DC, and then only damaged 1 drive somehow?

I assume you're playing a lot of older games, so Linux support is generally OK. But with newer stuff and especially competitive multiplayer stuff support is not very good on Linux.

Thanks I'll try that, don't understand why it's not using it by default.

Gaming, apps that only run on windows, ease of use, stability/reliability. I last installed windows on my PC a couple years ago after upgrading CPU/Motherboard, and since then it just trucks along with zero issues, every game I pl

I gave Linux a try again on my laptop and the first game I tried (EVE Online) just said "not supported" when I tried to run it via Steam. So not a good start so far.

OOSU is fantastic, much better than the other options I've used. Their O&O AppBuster is also great for cleaning up.

As I remember their app downloads a binary package after installation from an unknown source, and that's against Google ToS as far as I know.

Yeah it's quite confusing for the less technical user. Hopefully they change that so it doesn't just say "safe" in such a generic way.

The strangest part to me is that it shows it as "Safe", based on what? It doesn't seem like any checks were done at all to make sure this was a real app from Exodus.

Yes that's why I was curious on a comparison to Wireguard, because for some the advantage that the mesh/managed VPN setup brings may not be worth the performance trade-off.

It depends. I suspect large organic brands are more likely to be like that. But locally I've visited some of the small farms we buy produce from, and they use very minimal sprays, or none at all and instead plant companion plants that

I think the biggest protection against this kind of scam right now is just treat every incoming call or message as untrusted. Since caller ID spoofing is just left completely unchecked by the government and telcos. Anyone who calls me out o

In my mind Proxmox is more polished, not the UI itself necessarily, but it has built in (and good) backups, container support, built in ZFS, BTRFS, ZFS over iSCSI, GlusterFS, CephFS, etc... You can also do a cluster with live failover witho

Proxmox is a nice UI and extra utilities on top of KVM for VMs, KVM can be installed on any Linux system. I'd install Proxmox in a VM and give it a try if you want to see how it goes.

I just don't understand how I would ever get an EV serviced, the small mechanic shops around me don't (or can't due to expensive manufacturer tools) really work on EVs. And I don't know how much I can do myself without m

I'd guess it's just what different people are used to. Some people think a 24" 1080p monitor looks just fine, others will find it very pixelated and hard to use. Plenty of people think VR headsets look great, whereas all I no

As far as I know just high CRI alone as a measurement is only a small part of the story. You can have 90 CRI LEDs that don't have good color output.

The crazy part is how they managed to open/close Paypal cases for the buyer, it sounds like Paypal has some kind of bug or just lax security over the phone in verifying who someone is.

I really do think that the minimum liability needs to be raised to something like $1 million at least. There also needs to be much more strict enforcement and scanning for people driving without insurance, that's a huge issue in CO.

My guess is it's not the battery but the charging system that is the issue. If it's over charging, or not discharging to storage voltage properly then the batteries will puff up and can get punctured and catch fire.

SSDs idle at like 0.2W IIRC, so 6 of those shouldn't have much impact on overall power. Not sure on 8 SATA ports as most only have 3-4, but I'd be using NVMe SSDs if I could these days anyways, main boot drive in the motherboard a
