I just don't understand how I would ever get an EV serviced, the small mechanic shops around me don't (or can't due to expensive manufacturer tools) really work

I just don't understand how I would ever get an EV serviced, the small mechanic shops around me don't (or can't due to expensive manufacturer tools) really work on EVs. And I don't know how much I can do myself without manufacturer tools. Plus the service costs just seem very high in general. I can do all the work on my 4runner with a couple tools and parts are generally very cheap as well.
