You can love an art style and want to create images in that style without wanting to be an artist. My family and I absolutely love Ghibli films. I ran some family photos through 4o and my wife was thrilled. It made her day. You can call it

I hear you, but I got into crypto in 2012. This was back in the day when we were trying to build a decentralized alternative payment ecosystem, not gambling on a speculative investment. The rest of the sentence is sort of the point: >whe

The models can be sycophantic, but they're also pretty good at correcting false claims. Probably better than human communities who bond over having fringe ideological beliefs.

The majority of online content can decrease in quality while LLMs can increase in quality. If the decrease in quality is noticeable to you, then it can be accounted for by future model makers. We already know that quantity isn't everyt

For me, it isn't just about complexity, but about customization. I can have the LLMs build me custom bash scripts or make me my own Obsidian plugins. They're all little cogs in my own workflow. None of these individual components

This looks fun, but the pain of documentation has lost much of its sting already because of AI. If you haven't tried Claude Code yet, give it a go, and you'll see what I mean.

For fairly simple projects built from scratch, we're already there. Claude Code has been doing all of this for me on my latest project. It's remarkable. It seems inevitable it'll get there for larger and more complex code bas

I suspect success of advertising is less about people falling for deception and more about information availability. If you know nothing about two brands except you've heard the name of one 50 times in ads, you'll probably try it

I can see how it's worrying, but mostly as a replacement for real connections - if instead it supplements them, then not so bad. Most children love talking to a fun adult who enjoys talking to them. As parents we hope to be that adult

That's a great point about how using the models may actually just be revealing our own incompetence, not causing it. Maybe it's a quantity over quality issue. What if we're actually doing more of the thing - or at least we&#x

Agreed. I don't usually cry reading an HN post. It pulls no punches, and is completely devoid of self pity. Relentless, ruthless reality, coming close to detachment even, but it's all so personal. Incredible post.
