Folks like Stephen Pinker (Enlightenment Now), Matt Ridley (The Rational Optimist), and Max Roser (Our World in Data) have done a compelling job of presenting data that shows poverty has decreased substantially in recent generations.

I second this. I was homeschooled and am homeschooling our children. The best part is the flexibility and adaptability. Embrace it. Learn through living. Having your kids alongside you is probably a more representative sample of what living

Suppressors don't make any weapon quiet enough to be useful for hiding the sound of firing up close, as movies portray spies doing. It's more about protecting your own hearing.

I don't get the hate for 100 Watts on FT8 either. Use the power you need to make the contact. Keep an eye on the waterfall to make sure you aren't doubling. If you're getting a +5 SNR report then obviously dial it way back bu

This looks neat. How does this differ from disaster.radio? More portable? I ask because I really think these are important projects and I'm not sure which to contribute my time towards.

True, but the hardware is cheap and extremely simple to setup. The entire process took me maybe one hour and cost probably $40 if you include the SD card and Ethernet cable too.

There are many great scientists in this field and we should take heed of their warnings. But this isn't an example of that happening. This is activism dressed up as science. Their use of charts is a textbook example of how to mislead.
