Placeholder images - really, stretchable white boxes with borders would be fine - or the ability to upload an image would be helpful. having to put in a URL means I have to stop my workflow to create and FTP or whatever an image.

You could also decide you're going to say what you think on the topics where you feel you have something of value to add, say it as best you can, and not worry about the karma. I'm not being snarky. It's a perfectly legitimate way to operat

You know, I'm sure this is great and there's a market for it but unless I can see it, I don't know what "it" is. Open login demo? Screenshots? Examples? Tour? Video? Something?

I'm female and my co-founder is also female. I bring the design and the marketing; she brings the tech. We didn't apply this round because we're already edge case candidates and a conflict with the schedule made us pretty much a non-starter

To receive a faster and more direct response, please identify an entrepreneur, CEO, or executive in your network who has worked with KPCB and get a referral directly into our partnership. Well that's not very social.

God I hope so. At least Facebook would be in the hands of a literate design team.

It's for self promotion mainly, or consuming that promotion (Being a fan). Something I don't think most hackers are interested in. That demonstrates a very shallow and cursory understanding of Twitter. It's also problematic for people in

Zazu is an Android application that replaces the built-in alarm clock with an alarm clock that we believe to be more intelligent: it pulls whatever information you find important -- like your RSS feeds, your calendar, your email, your twit

A good copywriter will usually charge $10-$15K plus a percentage of sales. That's rubbish. I write copy for clients all day; very few companies I work with launch without copy for websites and marketing materials written by me. I bill th

Login issues aside (I realise they are significant but they're very well covered here)... This is a great product. I'm delighted for you that you've launched it as a shipable unit after what I'm sure was epic work. But you just cannot sell

That's 125K spent on some pretty B-list domains (except 20.com - which is nice even if it fails the ambiguity test.) It's frustrating to read because pretty much anyone here could tell you that 125K can fund a lot of freakin' development ti

I'm not sure why we require 1,500 words to convey the very basic idea that you shouldn't build a product in a vacuum. This entire article could fit in a tweet: Show it to the people you want to sell it to as you build it, and start buildin

I'm not being snarky but if A and B are your experience, you're doing it wrong. Let's say Popular Website A can give you 100,000 views and charges I dunno $35 CPM. Less Popular Sites B, C and D may only be charging $10 CPM, and you can get

In my opinion, you have the ideal product for advertising on photography websites and blogs. Your ad dollars will go much further than with AdWords in my experience, with a much lower CPC. I am a big, big fan of being able to reach pre-qu

Wow those slides are really... not pretty... Interesting how the slides from the 2006/2007 deck are so much less polished and high-value, design-wise, than the 2008 deck they're presented in.

Yes, sorry, on closer inspection you are correct; it isn't the actual deck, it's a post-event pitch deck replay. But since I can count the number of actual, in-the-wild pitch decks I've seen on one hand, maybe other people will still find i

You really need to provide a visual example on the home page of what it is... ie what does it look like when implemented. As it is, I don't understand exactly what I'm signing up for (in a concrete way) when I fill out the box.
