was surprising to me that this got downvoted, but looks like that trend has reversed. I can only add that I would much rather use this to kill flies and mosquitos in my house than a chemical spray. It sort of works on wasps, but mainly just

This virus seems to be right at the cusp of something we should really fear. ~3% mortality rate and at least semi easily transmissible. The fact is that this could be a lot worse and we are already seeing some ugly behavior from it. I imagi

Ive just started putting a mental business plan together on this. A few obstacles I see: 1) in the high end, is a UPS store or equivalent going to have a staff member on hand with enough expertise to vouch for a product? 2) condition is som

I sell quite a bit of vintage music gear on Reverb. I initially had some struggles with customers, but they seem to have mostly kept riff raff out. I think the fact that its still slightly a niche site keeps the volume down low enough to ke

I will preface this by saying that for anyone who does have issues, it sucks. I empathize with you. Data loss is frustrating. Catalina seems to have been an especially large paradigm shift as well, so seems there are edge cases. Having said

Agreed. This is something my 12 year old son really enjoys watching as well. I like that he usually does a pretty good job of striking a balance between deep dive and conceptual high points. On school nights, he will sing "Technology c

My point is that Soundcloud is a)disingenuous about fan engagement, and b) I would rather not even have the social aspect of it if it is fake. Posting on iTunes, I can actually have a shot at reaching people. Also this is not a sour grapes

Do you mean in addition to the Chinese tapping it the americans are unable to? I would agree if that is what you mean. I would also add that in hindsight, it looks like Huawei is the same arrangement as Crypto.

I stopped liking soundcloud when I realized that 99.999999% of my followers are bots. I dont need a bunch of followers that mean nothing. I would rather have 0 than 100 fake followers. I also realized that at my production rate, its cheaper

I dont care if the fan is on. I care that the fan is egregiously on. It is probably 95-100db on. That means that the macbook is fundamentally unable to manage the heat load it generates. It would be one thing if I were in the middle of th

I agree with what you are saying up until you say nothing is wrong with the fan coming on at a 15% cpu load. regardless of what is really happening to take that 15% load, if the fan comes on that strong, it is not a proper thermal design. A

Ive had the pleasure of interacting with Robin via email a few times over the years. He is the expert when it comes to modifying your Roland X0X machine. I paid him for a few hours of consulting time to modify my TR-808. This guy was more

It reminds me of how solitaire has "ads" now. Maybe its just me, but the only "Ad" I get is "Hey are you tired of ads? buy it here!" or "Hey you can change your card style". Both from MS.

The problem as I see it with Houston is that there are few inhibitors to the sprawl, and few options to navigate it. Land to the west of town(where a significant part of the growth is happening) is plentiful and relatively cheap. I sometime

A few questions: 1) at best this happens at~50% of the games. The Astros won the series in LA that year. Did they find a way to cheat everywhere? 2) what is the end game here? The Astros have won exactly 1 World Series. Hardly a huge dispar

Interestingly I have seen a source of arbitrage in the music/pro audio gear space. If I (in US) go to Thomann music (Germany) many non US origin goods are between 50-80% of the US MAP. Part of this seems to be exchange rate related but

It took me a long time to figure that out as a kid. Listening to Beatles songs with lyrics like “the man in the Mac said you gotta go back” or “the banker never wears a Mac “ I had no idea what that was.
