It is often good for the ecosystem that we have choice of tools for a given task, so I applaud the general effort gone into this additional "Google Photos 'Clone'". Here the challenge is to actually understand what "

Or the more realistic: it's happening, the long-term consequences are ignored due to short-term return on investment. While I agree that "let's remind them why they need us" sounds a bit too pitchforky, I believe the bac

The title I see right now is "connects to two satellites in orbit from Earth " (as opposed to "between each other" I guess). "Hubble’s approach directly tackles these problems by enabling standard Bluetooth devices

The heat index measures your body's ability to regulate its temperature by sweating. Higher ambient humidity limits the effectiveness of sweating. At "wet bulb temperature" your sweat doesn't cool you down anymore.

The reasons for this increase in temperature persist and new contributing reasons are starting to appear, that create vicious feedback loops.

Given that a heat pump and an air conditioner are the same thing except for one valve, i assume this article is just corporate fluffvertising. Technology Connections had an interesting primer on heat pumps not long ago on YouTube.

I need to disagree with that reasoning. A device you own is collecting and using data that pertain to your personal sphere, in ways defined by a vendor, and that you do not understand or control. From that premise, you cannot hop to the con

Is it PII? Yes, because it's linked to your personal Apple account, that identifies you as an individual to the data controller (Apple, as they are the ones deciding which data to collect and how it will be used). Is it pseudonymized?

A project to change constitutions needs to be pushed by politicians. But politicians suck, which implies they will not be inclined to push for constitution changes. So the system converges to a suck-state.

Contrary to fuel, you can reuse/recycle lithium. Rare earths are less of a requirement than they were 5 years ago and the trend should keep that way.

For the choices after your "OR at least" line, just consider that most of the collision material could be padded into a comment, so achieving a), b) and d) would be "trivial."

My initial comment was about a simple 'cp' copy of a large file from local storage to an NFS mount. It times out, 'cp' exits in error, and my file is not transferred. I can reproduce this at will. I think I should report

My systems routinely report transferring files at speeds much faster than what the physical medium asked, only to have them get stuck and fail on a time out a while after. Having such behavior be the default is, to my limited understanding,

When the choice is between "slow" file transfers and being unable to do file transfers because of NFS timeouts, the choice should be obvious. I've lost data as a side effect of a simple file transfer timing out.

The TL:DR; is that the build step masks the wait for input from a shell pipe. With a side dish of "do buffered input" and then a small "avoid memory allocation for fun."
